Yeah I finally got my package days ago:
[wait, two packages?]
Oh well, better I start the story from the beginning.
In 2012, Pix'n Love released the book The History of Sonic the Hedgehog.
[nice hard cover.]
It's the retrospective of Sonic and all the stuff related to our favorite blue hedgehog. It's really a big book with 300 pages. The cover is pretty nice. The text, Sonic and the ring a re a bit more reflective than the rest of the cover.
[so many awesome stuff.]
Like I said before, there are a lot of nice information about Sonic. Probably a lot of things you didn't know. But If you are a big fan you may know everything. But still a nice experience.
[I've seen you somewhere...]
The book talks about the history of Sonic and even before of that. Talking a bit about SEGA and the games they made before.
[wait, that's not my hand this time]
There are a lot of facts about Sonic's past I didnt know. And some concept art. Some ideas for the new SEGA mascot were really... not so cool like the blue blur.
[too much information for my brain.]
They talk about all the games and spin-offs. And they also added information about all the characters from the games. Curiosities and some very interesting stuff.
But not you may be asking "Aha, why did you buy this book? You can't even afford the morning newspaper.". Well it's true. The book was a courtesy from Udon Entertainment (they published the English version). Why? Well because they used one of my pictures, kinda without my authorization.
[they used the big no bg version I posted on another site]
I saw some people talking about that and I got really curious. First I thought it was a joke but then I checked some videos about the book and the image was really there. My reaction was positive, even they didn't ask me anything.
[right there on the page 201.]
I dunno why they liked it. Maybe because that different from the original art from the game, the Amy I drew has more boo... attitude. Well I'm happy they used it. Even if it's very small.
But now you're asking "why didn't you f****sue them?". Well I'm pretty sure it would be a pain only on one ass: mine. Also because the character belongs to SEGA and Pix'n Love have the authorization to use everything related to Sonic. So I just sent them a very nice and polite email, asking them to send me a copy of the book. And guess what? They replied me asap, even more nicely, saying sorry, asking me if they should remove it from future editions and asking my address to send the book. They seem to be really nice. and They also send my a copy of Marvel vs Capcom Official Complete Works, for free. Its pretty cool too.
[free book; best kind of book.]
I'm happy they used that drawing, so I can say at least one of my works got published on a book. I don't think it's gonna happen again.
The book is really good. The cover is hard and the pages are really good. It's nicely printed too.
You may say "but Aha, I can see all those things on the interent". Well yeah, but it's not the same thing. Also, the book smells good. How your internet smells?
So if you have the money, go buy a copy. You're gonna like it. I guess it's about $33 USD
Now excuse me while I keep reading my new book. Bye!
